Photographed in September of 2015. This photo was taken on a trip to San Antonio. The Japanese Sunken Gardens, now renamed the Japanese Tea Gardens, are located in Brackenridge Park. Originally a limestone quarry, the gardens were constructed between July 1917 and May 1918 using prison labor to shape the quarry into a complex that included walkways, stone arch bridges, an island and a Japanese pagoda.
